ABOUT THE MOVIE

North America, 1890: The two comedians Martin Fromme (Stromberg) and Helmut Sanftenschneider (Ruhrpott-Banderas) are on a quest to find the last comedy club in the Wild West, where the naïve Helmut wants to show his new (potentially disastrous) show.
But on their way they are ambushed by the legendary Jesse James (Ralf Winkel) and his gang (Sina Hübsch, Sascha Thamm), neither of whom are to be joked with.
Can Helmut's new comedy show save them?

FOR A HANDFULL OF JOKES is a parody and tribute to the western classics of the 50s. The short film was developed and written by screenwriter and genre enthusiast Leonard Sanftenschneider (Buddy und der Bulle, Instinkt), who realized the film together with the wonderful assistant director Priska Heynert (Das Wichtigste im Leben, Die Chefin) and the cinematographer Michael Kozlowski (Jokers Comedy).
